Itinerary
You will be picked up from your hotel in Victoria Falls at around 1000hrs and transferred to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest and most diverse wildlife reserve. Upon arrival, you will check in at Hwange Safari Lodge and have time to settle in and enjoy the serene bush surroundings.
In the late afternoon, you will head out on a welcome sunset game drive, an ideal time to spot wildlife as animals become active in the cooler hours of the day. Expect sightings of elephants, buffalo, antelope, and possibly predators as the golden African sunset paints the landscape.
After dinner at the lodge, a truly unique experience awaits. At 20h30, you will embark on an unforgettable moonlight elephant tracking safari, following elephant movements under the stars with experienced guides. This rare nocturnal safari offers incredible insights into elephant behavior and creates a magical connection with the African wilderness.
Today we wake up early in the morning for the main course of our 3 days safari in Hwange national park. Spend a full day immersed in the wild heart of Zimbabwe with this guided game drive through Hwange National Park, starting and ending at the renowned Hwange Safari Lodge. This experience is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone eager to encounter Africa’s iconic wildlife up close.
Your adventure begins early with a pick-up from Hwange Safari Lodge, followed by a full-day safari in an open 4×4 safari vehicle led by a professional guide. Explore a variety of ecosystems — from Kalahari sands and mopane woodland to open grasslands and natural waterholes — where you may spot elephants, lions, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, antelope, and more than 400 bird species.
Midday, you’ll pause at a shaded picnic site inside the park for a packed bush lunch before continuing your wildlife search in the afternoon. The game drive ends with a return to the lodge in the late afternoon, just in time to relax and enjoy the evening.
On the final day of your safari, we rise early for a wrap-up game drive starting at 05h45, offering one last opportunity to spot any wildlife we may have missed during the previous days. This early morning safari is often one of the most rewarding, as animals are most active at dawn and the soft morning light creates ideal conditions for wildlife viewing and photography.
After approximately three hours of exploring the park, we return to the lodge for a well-deserved breakfast. Following breakfast and time to freshen up, we prepare for departure from the lodge at around 1100hrs.
You will then be transferred back to Victoria Falls, with an expected arrival time of approximately 1400hrs, marking the end of an unforgettable safari experience filled with remarkable wildlife encounters and lasting memories of Africa’s wilderness.
